Short Bio

 

 Jan Gillies was born in California, grew up in the swamps of Northern Indiana, spent several years as a sailor crewing research expeditions off South Florida, the Bahamas, and South America, and currently lives in the mountains of West Virginia. From her early beginnings working the record department at Value City to her time at sea, from being a Hospice director to a singing science teacher, music has been a common thread throughout Jan's life, and her songs are inspired by her experiences and the people (and animals!) she's met along the way.
